Wellness Kits...............by Maria Lani

I will be posting photographs of the Maria Lani farms very soon. Unfortunately the weather has made me postpone my trip on a couple of occasions. When it rains here, it really rains.

Twinning

I had an idea a couple of years ago, about trying to "twin" a school or town in Eastern Samar, with a school or town in the UK,.......or another part of the world for that matter. In fact, I discussed the idea with the trustees of Equitrade, who were interested in becoming involved. There were several reasons why I didn't follow-up on the original idea, but now I am going to make another effort.

What made me think again?.....This blog post.

Brilliant post on a brilliant blog.

It is okay to have good ideas, but you actually have to make them happen. I should have learned that years ago. I will be begging the directors of Maria Lani to consider this idea, using a school close to their farms or the production plant, and giving the students as much help as we can. Meanwhile, it would be interesting to hear of any schools in the UK that would like to take part. I can be contacted through the email address on my profile.

Moringa products in the UK

You may well be desperate to lay your hands on some moringa capsules, or moringa tea, before they are available from Maria Lani UK. I have posted a link to Moringa4Health, which is a very interesting site that sells moringa products. I was amazed at the effect moringa had on my blood pressure, and am still annoyed that it took me so long to find a natural cure. I am not saying that moringa is a cure-all, but it is well worth a try if you have high blood pressure....or one of numerous other illnesses. The site also promotes filipino culture and tourism; it is well worth checking out.

It is great to see sites in the UK that are bringing in wonderful health and beauty products from The Philippines. I go to so many malls in Manila, where there are numerous beauty stores selling high-priced products from western countries, which are made from ingredients grown in less developed countries. The ingredients are shipped to Europe or North America, made into high-end products, which are then shipped back to the poorer countries, to sell for ridiculously high prices. It is madness.

Maria Lani products are produced in The Philippines, from the finest ingredients; the vast majority of which are grown here. The raw virgin coconut oil comes from Quezon province. The organic moringa is grown in Pangasinan. Why ship the ingredients half way round the world, so a rich company can produce soaps and send them back, to be sold in the up-market malls in Singapore, Tokyo, Manila or Hong Kong. Do you honestly believe many health and beauty product manufacturers actually use raw VCO in their extremely expensive ranges,.......or fresh, organic moringa? Surprisingly, they don't.

Maria Lani produces equitrade products, because they are made in the country where the ingredients are grown. They are packaged in The Philippines, they are labelled in The Philippines. The company pays employees in The Philippines, and pays taxes here. This is a far better idea than shipping the ingredients overseas, and allowing the add-on value to be made in much richer countries.

P.S. Many of the previous posts have been improved. I am finally getting the hang of the "add image" option.

P.P.S. You won't believe how brilliant the new Maria Lani shampoo is!!
