It is being different that makes Cocovogue special.

I sat down to write some text for the brochures that we will be handing out at the Natural Health and Beauty Show. It was proving quite difficult because we are only a very small company from The Philippines and we will be exhibiting alongside the big boys from Western Europe and North America. How can we attract attention to ourselves when our marketing budget is minuscule compared to theirs. We have exceptional products but how do we create interest in those products without all the promotional items, the roller banners, and the expensive backdrops. How can we compete with these companies? What can I write on the brochures which will make it obvious Cocovogue deserves the same respect as the other exhibitors?

Then it occurred to me; there are so many differences between us and the vast majority of other companies producing natural beauty products, but it is those differences which make our little company so special. (Not forgetting the aforementioned amazing products.) So, let me just tell you what the differences are, and why they make Cocovogue one of the most interesting and exciting producers of natural beauty products.

1. Our company is based in Marikina, Philippines. We will almost certainly be the only Filipino company at the exhibition. There will be numerous companies exhibiting which have used coconut oil from The Philippines when manufacturing their products. It won't have been fresh and raw like the virgin coconut oil used by Maria Lani.

2. We produce our products using predominantly local harvested, fresh ingredients. We also package and label our products in The Philippines. We are an Equitrade company, in that the vast majority of the profits made from Cocovogue products will be made in the country where the ingredients are found. The add-on value stays in the poorer country. (Unfortunately this is not always the case with Fairtrade products.)

3. Our base oil is virgin coconut oil, but Maria Lani only uses raw oil. This is not oil that has been processed from copra and refined, bleached and deodorised. This is the finest virgin coconut oil money can buy. I honestly doubt that any other beauty product manufacturer uses oil of this quality in their products.


4. Cocovogue products often contain a blend of raw virgin coconut oil and organic moringa oil. Very few producers of beauty products use moringa oil, even though it is widely recognised as being a wonderful oil for the skin. Maria Lani has, for many years, been formulating and developing natural beauty products, using a blend of virgin coconut oil and moringa oil, for use in high-end spas and holistic clinics.
